LocationNashville, TN TitleProgrammer/Analyst III Description:This new position will be dedicated to .NET development to create the new Juvenile Statistical Reporting Validation System (JSRV) software which will replace the current Juvenile Court Data Collection database and automated system. The JSRV front end will be developed in MS Access using Visual Basic for Access. The existing juvenile court data, which resides on an MS Access database, must be converted and a system developed to allow the translation of current automated functions and the development of new automated functions that are required in the proposed JSRV system. Business Requirement documentation is complete and the design specifications are in process. The JSRV database will be developed using Visual Basic.NET technology and the data will be housed on an Oracle database. The new software system and Oracle database must meet distributed software requirements for server consolidation, software industry best practices, and Department .NET development standards. The JSRV software will be deployed at the AOC level and accessible to the Juvenile Project Team. The JSRV data collection software will make it easier for the AOC Juvenile Project Team to collect juvenile court data from the 98 juvenile courts. Approximately 65 juvenile courts will utilize the new Juvenile Data Collection (JDC) system developed at the AOC. These courts will transmit their complete databases for inclusion in the main JSRV Oracle database. The juvenile courts using other data collection software, considered JDX courts, will provide juvenile data in extracts that will conform to the Oracle database parameters. All JDC system juvenile court data will be validated prior to receipt at the AOC level. Data validation for JDX court data will take place upon receipt at AOC and prior to the data's inclusion in the Oracle database. The JSRV software will allow full functionality and expanded capabilities. Juvenile project personnel will have the ability to print pre-determined reports; to create reports based on in-system, designated parameters; and create ad-hoc reports as required. The Programmer/Analyst III must be very experienced in Visual Basic for Access (VBA) language and Visual Basic.NET as they will be required to develop the JSRV software in accordance with the system design specifications. The Programmer/Analyst III must be very experienced in data conversion. The existing multi-year juvenile court data must be converted and moved from the current database structure into the newly designed database structure. The Programmer/Analyst III must be very experienced in database design, structure, stored procedures, indexing, and normalization. The Programmer Analyst III must also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as they will be required to clearly document the JSRV software program and modifications in accordance with established procedures and policies. The Programmer Analyst III will be instrumental in developing test, training, deployment documentation and programs, and modules.
